Пасьля візыту прафэсара Эўрапейскага Гуманітарнага Ўнівэрсытэту Аляксандра Калбаскі, Рэктар ЭГУ Д-р Вілюс Шадаўскас і Скарынаўская бібліятэка падпісалі дамову аб супрацоўніцтве.
Following a visit by Professor Alexander Kalbaska of the European Humanities University (EHU), the EHU Rector, Dr Vilius Šadauskas, and the Skaryna Library signed a cooperation agreement.
Прафэсар Калбаска зазначыў, што ЭГУ і бібліятэцы — установам, якія дбаюць пра лепшую будучыню для Беларусі, — лёсам наканаваная супраца. Куратарка і апякунка Скарынаўкі Караліна Мацкевіч прыгадала гісторыю мінулага супрацоўніцтва паміж дзьвюмя ўстановамі: у 2008 г. айцец Аляксандар Надсан атрымаў ступень ганаровага доктара ЭГУ (сярод іншых выбітных беларусаў, якія атрымалі гэтую ступень — Сьвятлана Алексіевіч, Вітаўт Кіпель і Алесь Разанаў) , а ў 2014 г. ЭГУ зладзіў у Лёндане выставу, прысьвечаную БНР, матэрыялы якой перадаў ў бібліятэку. Апякун бібліятэкі Павал Шаўцоў дадаў што гэта ўжо другая афіцыйная дамова аб супрацоўніцтве паміж бібліятэкай і вядомай эўрапейскай акадэмічнай установай (першая была падпісаная ў мінулым годзе з Варшаўскім Унівэрсытэтам) , што дазваляе Скарынаўцы працаваць на больш інстытуцыйным міжнародным узроўні.
Professor Kalbaska noted that the EHU and the library are institutions that care about a better future for Belarus and are therefore destined to cooperate. Karalina Matskevich, the library’s curator and trustee, recalled past collaborations between the two institutions. In 2008, Father Alexander Nadson was awarded an honorary doctorate by EHU, alongside other prominent Belarusians such as Śviatlana Aleksijevič, Vitaŭt Kipiel, and Aleś Razanaŭ. In 2014, EHU organised an exhibition in London dedicated to the Belarusian People’s Republic, and the materials were subsequently transferred to the library. The library’s trustee, Pavel Shevtsov, added that this is the second official cooperation agreement that the library has signed with a renowned European academic institution (the first was with the University of Warsaw last year), enabling Skarynovka to operate at an institutional international level.
