The Francis Skaryna Belarusian Library and Museum is the only institution of its kind outside Belarus. Over the decades, it has been instrumental in encouraging Belarusian studies around the world. All its holdings are freely available to bona fide scholars with an interest in Belarus.
It was formally established as an independent institution in 1971, though the library and museum collections existed long before as part of the Belarusian Catholic Mission in England.
The Francis Skaryna Belarusian Library and Museum is an independent institution and is not in receipt of any grant or subsidy from public funds. Its existence has been made possible thanks to the generosity and understanding of its numerous friends and well-wishers.
