Падчас імпрэзы адбудзецца дыскусыя “Будучыня Беларусі: азірнуцца назад, каб ісьці наперад”. Адна з удзельніц сустрэчы, Леся Пчолка (a-lesia.com) зробіць прэзэнтацыю па-беларуску “Адкрыцьцё (бяз)памяцi”.
Леся – лектарка і візуальная дасьледніца, якая працуе зь беларускай народнай фатаграфіяй. Яе праца дэманструе, як прыватныя і грамадзкія архівы могуць захаваць культуру, гісторыю і спадчыну ва аўтарытарных умовах, калі дзяржаўныя архівы цэнзуруюцца альбо недасяжныя. The future of Belarus: looking back in order to move forward
This Friday, we will be co-hosting an event in London in partnership with the John Smith Trust.
During the event, we will have a discussion on the future of Belarus: looking back in order to move forward. In this framework, Lesia Pcholka (a-lesia.com) will give a talk on the DISCOVERY OF (NON)MEMORY. The talk will be in Belarusian.
Lesia is a lecturer and visual researcher who works with Belarusian vernacular photography. Her work highlights how, in authoritarian contexts where state archives are censored or inaccessible, personal and community archives can preserve culture, history and heritage.
