What does the London “Skaryna Library” preserve, and why do researchers strive to visit it?

A programme about the Skaryna Library featuring one of its trustees has been released on Euroradio. We republish the material in full.

“Founded in 1971, the Belarusian Francis Skaryna Library and Museum in London is today one of the most important centres of Belarusian culture and history in the West. It preserves a unique collection of books, documents, maps (including rare and early ones), as well as materials on the Belarusian diaspora.

All of this makes it an important scholarly and cultural hub, attracting researchers and academics from around the world.

It was here, in the local archives, that Halina Kazimiroŭskaya discovered a treasure — the works of Mikola Kulikovich.

We set off on a tour of this remarkable place, led by Paveł Šaŭcoŭ, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Skaryna Library”
