The library’s local newspaper, Barnet Post, published a long interview with the trustees, Karalina Matskevich and Pavel Shevtsov.
Our neighbourhood – Finchley and the whole Barnet, just like the rest of London – is multi-ethnic. Many of our neighbours have not heard of or have a very limited idea about Belarus, and where the Belarusian community centre in north London came from.
Thank you to journalist Bella Saltiel for retelling so many stories which we shared with her: about the library and museum, the Belarusian church, and what motivates us to continue collecting and promoting Belarusian heritage in Britain and beyond.
