Opening of the Unbroken Exhibition

The Unbroken exhibition dedicated to victims of political persecution in Belarus opened on 5 August 2020. It included a curatorial tour, poetry recitals, and a virtual meeting with the former political prisoner, Natallia Hersche. We are very grateful to:

  • Natallia for her candid, deep and inspirational conversation;
  • the Swiss Embassies in Minsk and London for facilitating our communication with Natallia and donating her prison uniform to our collection;
  • the Ivan Luckievič Museum in Vilnius for lending us very interesting exhibits from the Gulag era and more recent years;
  • the Belarusian community in London for artefacts from protest and solidarity events.

Poetess Hanna Komar is reading her poem U našaj kamery (In Our Cell) during a tour of the exhibition Unbroken.
